Rome Club Night Pics!!!

The Circolo Illuminati club in Rome was the setting for the opening party of MyMy, the first in a series of pop-up parties around Italy.
Adil, fashion designer John Richmond, and the Twotogether DJ’s, DJ’d to a hedonistic crowd of Rome’s most beautiful people who rocked all night to a non-house mix of electro-swing, rock & roll, indie, disco & breakbeats. There was also a special performance by Grace - Italy’s premier burlesque artist.
Thanks go out to Tracy Williams, Lisa, Francesca and the Twotogether DJ’s for organising a brilliant party! The next party will be at the end of March - watch this space........

This annual awards ceremony is like the BAFTA’s of the advertising world. Prizes are awarded for the best ads, directors, music scores, cinematography etc etc.

Special mention must go to Hans Brower of Massive Music, an old friend of Jay’s who scooped a couple of trophies (again!) this year.

We’ve given it an Ibiza chill-out treatment and it will be released as the ‘Dead Lovers’ remix on Freaksville Records in the new year.

You can listen to the original on SoundCloud here -

'Miss You x’ party

Doc 1
Hoxton Square's Underbelly Club was the setting for another of Adil's "Miss You x" pop-up parties which as always was by invitation only.

The evening had a french theme-"Le Cabaret Rock and Roll" with the return of  Freaksville Records garage rockers Phantom accompanied by guest vocalists the iconic Parisian singer Marie France and Laetitia Sadier from cult indie band Stereolab.

Their amazing set included Brigitte Bardot's "Harley Davidson"and "Contact" and Serge Gainsbourg's "Intoxicated Man", ending with a rousing version of the Ramone's "Blitzkrieg Pop".

Fine support came from the 80s influenced pop-tastic Ollie Wride and the compelling, exotic burlesque performer Mademoiselle Adeline making her London debut.

One again, fashion designer John Richmond and guest dj Spencer Mac rocked the dance floor with an eclectic mix from swing and boogie woogie to electro pop.

The revellers who sipped on vodka cocktails courtesy of Vestal Vodka included the Belgian Ambassador, Depeche Modes's Martin Gore, Shoe designer Terry de Havilland and his wife Liz, S-Club 7's Tina Barret, Ian Drury's son Baxter Drury and Ringo Starr's grand daughter Tatia Starkey who plays bass in the the up and coming Bella Kiss who will be performing for us in the new year.......

John Richmond - Womens S/S 2011

John Richmond’s Women’s Spring / Summer 2011 Milan catwalk show was inspired by the English psychedelic fashions of the late 60’s, with a tailored contemporary twist.

The music reflected this with a mixture of old and new classics remixed, from John Lennons ‘Give Peace A Chance’ and ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamond’s’ to MGMT’s ‘Time To Pretend’.

Upcoming ‘Miss You x’ party

Screen Shot 2012-05-09 at 12.31.48
There’s another new ‘Miss You x’ party coming up at Hoxton’s Underbelly club on Friday 8th October.

This invitation only party will see the British debut of iconic 80‘s French singer Lio.

Her international hits include ‘Le Banana Split’ and ‘Amoureux Solitaires’, she’s an accomplished actress and also a judge on French pop idol show ‘Nouvelle Star’. She’s now moved from pop electro to rock & roll with her backing band ‘Phantom’, led by guitarist and producer, the mysterious Miam Monster Miam of Freaksville records.

Support comes from the up and coming Olly Wride - think Scissor Sisters meets Queen! And also the London debut of saucy French burlesque singer Adeline.

Spencer Mac and a very special guest star will be joining resident DJ’s fashion designer John Richmond and Adil on the decks.

Sing Sing Sing remix

Just for kicks we’ve done a remix of Sing Sing Sing.

Benny Goodman goes head to head with Louis Prima in our electro swing mashup of this classic swing tune.

John Richmond - Mens S/S 2010/11

Screen Shot 2012-05-09 at 12.29.21
The look of this show was inspired by English tailored psychedelic hippy mod.

The music reflected this with tracks by the Doors, John Lennon and The Beatles. We again remixed and mashed up some elements to bring it bang up-t- date, and also dropped in the Chemical Brothers ‘Setting Sun’- it was after all claimed that they’d sampled The Beatles ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’!

Kula Shaker remix

Our first ‘Cowboy and Indian’ remix was of Kula Shaker’s ‘Song Of Love / Narayana’ from their ‘Strangelove’ album.

Kula Shaker released it on promo only due to publishings issues - bits of it were used in an earlier Prodigy track that Crispin was involved in co-writing.

‘Fool’s Gold’ by The Stone Roses, and Bollywood soundtracks were the inspiration for this mix!

Goldbug - Whole Lotta Love

Adil was originally one half of dance rock duo Goldbug, which had a top 3 hit with their cover of Led Zeppelins’ Whole Lotta Love’. One of the earliest examples of a pop ‘mash-up’, it fused Led Zep with the iconic Pearl & Dean classic cinema advertising theme.

See the video in this classic ‘Chart Show’ clip on YouTube (1 min in)

John Richmond - Womens F/W 2010/11

Inspired by Bowie’s ‘Fashion’, we had a mix of early 80’s pop - Bowie, Gary Newman & Freez’s I.O.U, pitched against electro tracks by Lady Gaga, Justice and Benny Benassi!

Nichole de Carle

Nichole De Carle
Tonight see’s us in the Paramount private members club playing music for bespoke lingerie designer Nichole de Carle’s catwalk show.

Nichole , who’s worked for the luxury design houses of Alexander McQueen in London, Donna Karan in New York, and Pleasure State in Australia, went on to found her own company in 2006, crafting bespoke lingerie for private clients.

This is obviously going to be a very difficult and demanding gig ........

Duran Duran's Roger & Gisella Taylor's joint birthday party at the Dorchester hotel

Adil and that man again John Richmond were invited to dj at Duran Durans Roger Taylors joint birthday party with wife Gisella at the Dorchester Hotel.

Guests at the glamourous black tie Venetian masked ball themed party included fellow band mates Simon le Bon and Nick Rhodes, Boy George, designer Anthony Price and errr Venessa Feltz to name a few of the revellers that rocked through the night to a soundtrack of classic Disco, 80s Pop and 70s Punk Rock.

Tatler had the picture exclusive which can be seen in the forthcoming March/April issue. Until then these are some sneaky pics from the dj stand.
